How to get to Lecce
Lecce can be easily reached by plane, train and car from all over Europe.
The closest international airport is Brindisi (Aeroporto del Salento, also called Aeroporto Papola-Casale), which is only 40 kms away from the town of Lecce and is served by direct flights to major European and Italian towns (http://www.aeroportidipuglia.it/brindisi/le-destinazioni). If you cannot find a suitable flight to Brindisi, you may want to check Bari airport. About 150 kms away, Bari is directly connected to an even wider range of European and Italian towns (http://www.aeroportidipuglia.it/bari/le-destinazioni) and has excellent train connections to Bari train station, and from there to Lecce.
From Brindisi airport to Lecce:
- private AIR Shuttle service (from € 20 per person)
- public city trasport to/from Brindisi train station + train to/from Lecce
From Bari airport to Lecce:
- train to/from Bari airport to/from Bari central train station + train to/from Lecce
